‘Rs 3 billion spent on upgrading Lahore General Hospital, PMI’
LAHORE: The Punjab government was spending Rs 3 billion on upgrading the Postgraduate Medical Institute and its teaching hospital, Lahore General Hospital, said Dr Umer Farooq Baloch to reporters on Wednesday. He said trauma and medical care facilities were provided in the new emergency that was built on 84,000 square feet costing Rs 200 million. He said the new 110-bed emergency room had five operation theatres, a burn unit, a gynaecology and paediatrics emergency room, neuro-surgery, surgical, orthopaedic and fluoroscopy facilities. He said patients’ records would be computerised so that in times of emergency, time would be saved. app
